Your donation will go directly to the grassroots organizations working in communities all along the Gulf Coast on the frontlines of this disaster.
IBRRC In Action: Saving Oiled Wildlife in the Gulf
A team of bird rescue specialists from International Bird Rescue Research Center (IBRRC) have been deployed to the Gulf Coast to help with an all-hands-on-deck effort to rescue seabirds caught in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. IBRRC is working with Tri-State Bird Rescue, the lead oiled wildlife organization on the ground, to set up and staff rehabilitation centers in Louisiana, Alabama and Florida, where the growing oil slick is expected to impact birds.
Key West Wildlife Center
http://www.keywestwildlifecenter.org/
The Key West Wildlife Center’s mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release as many wild birds as possible. In 2009, we had over 1100 wild bird patients walk through our doors and so far in 2010, over 700! They are in dire straits right now and need donations… To donate, visit their site or their facebook page.

How to help:
While those responsible for this spill are covering the cost of the Gulf clean-up, you can support the ongoing work of the non-profit organizations currently on the ground preparing to respond to oiled wildlife. You can support International Bird Rescue‘s ongoing rescue work by donating, becoming a member or adopting a bird.
Please also remember our friends at Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research who we are partnering with in this ongoing effort on the Gulf Coast. Read more about how to help.
National Wildlife Fedreration
Support the Gulf Coast Surveillance Teams: The National Wildlife Federation volunteer surveillance teams still need handheld GPS units donated so they can submit sightings from along the Gulf. Even if you can’t donate a whole unit, our volunteer coordinator said gift cards to Best Buy ($10, $15, whatever you can help with) are also useful. Just drop them in an envelope addressed to: National Wildlife Federation, Attn: Oil Spill Volunteer Network, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190.
